A dentist’s dream to put the fun in functional was brought to life by fresh, young designers. megasmile’s growing range features a multitude of vibrant toothbrushes, all tufted with the iconic black bristles, and an innovative toothpaste-moutwash hybrid aptly named Dental Snow.

Patented ACP technology
The black bristles of our toothbrushes are powered by Activated Charcoal Polishing technology, which removes persistent stains and whitens teeth without chemical additives.
Black Bristles for White Teeth
ACP technology is based on medical-grade activated charcoal. The rough surface and porous structure of charcoal allows it too loosen and bind stains, removing them from the teeth.

“Done before” is something that we don’t accept. We not only re-imagined the toothbrush, but we also reinvented the toothpaste. Our Dental Snow introduced an entirely new category to the market: a toothpaste-mouthwash hybrid that can be used on-the-go!

Oktae 옥태 is UK-based singer-songwriter. She is a story-obsessed observer of all things natural & person-made. All things bass & beautiful. Grown in the subconscious of a delicately strong mind, songs by Oktae encourage you to think, feel, forgive and accept. Oktae loves to perform and part of her backstage prep involves brushing her teeth with her Sonic Black Whitening toothbrush.
RICHARD
As an actor, Richard is always on-the-go. His busy lifestyle has him rushing between jobs: from screen to set to stage. Each job is different, but one thing remains the same: shiny white teeth. While makeup artists and hair stylists ensure he looks the part, Richard uses megasmile’s Instant Whitening Dental Snow to make sure he feels the part. Just one pump and he’s ready to take centre stage.
FLORIAN
Florian is a unique artist who uses his own body as a medium for his work. Inspired by the Visual Kei movement in Japan, which strongly rebels against the country’s rigid society, Florian developed his own style and started to “stage” himself. CONQUERING THE INTERNATIONAL DESIGN WORLD FROM APPENZELL
megasmile began in the foothills of the Eastern Swiss Alps. Dr Roland Zettel, a successful dentist practicing in Appenzell, decided to offer dental care products which are fun, effective and good-looking. He confidently set about constructing a unique range of dental products.
DESIGNING IS STORYTELLING
The megasmile Black Whitening toothbrushes were designed by the product designers Fabienne Meyer and Urban Würsch who are based in Zurich.
Fabienne playfully finds the sources of her creativity in the endless configurations of colours, shapes and functions: “Design is a kind of story-telling in which the previously unseen is made visible and fantastic shapes are captured.”
Urban has developed a concentrated design language which highlights function: “What matters to me is that people can immediately recogniae the idea and the meaning of a creation.”
TURNING DAILY ROUTINE INTO AN EXPERIENCE
“We are really into the toothbrush. The product is a fascinating area. An incredibly large number of people hold them in their hand a few times a day without thinking about them. It is such objects of daily routine that provide a challenge: how can we develop a working interplay of shapes, colours and textures – in a nutshell, how can we create a product that people like to use?”
COMBINING AESTHETICS
“Overall, good design has to fulfill a task, it has to solve a problem while combining function and aesthetics at the same time. What is very important to us is a process of continuous optimisation: we design a prototype and improve its details, design a new prototype and again improve its details. Good design is never incidental! It is based on a systematic approach and long years of experience.”
